The Swan was designed and built in Finland by Nautor — one of the most respected yacht manufacturers in the world, known for building boats that can cross oceans safely and look beautiful doing it. A Swan is not a charter boat or a party vessel. It is a serious sailing yacht that happens to be elegant: the kind of boat that serious sailors recognize immediately and non-sailors find simply beautiful.
Our Swan 49' accommodates up to 10 guests and is operated by an experienced captain with years of Pacific sailing. The deck is spacious enough to find your own corner of it, or to gather everyone together for lunch with the sails full and the coast disappearing behind you.
There are no strangers aboard. This is a private charter — your group, your pace, your day.
The Route
Every sailing day is shaped by the conditions — wind direction, swell, how the morning looks when the captain checks the weather. What stays constant is the spirit of it: we leave the marina, we sail, and we let the ocean set the pace.
On a typical day, the route explores the Central Coast north of Valparaíso — a stretch of coastline where small fishing caletas give way to dramatic rocky headlands, where sea lions haul out on offshore rocks, and where Humboldt penguins occasionally appear in the water alongside the boat. This coastline is almost entirely inaccessible by road — which is precisely why seeing it from the water feels like discovering something private.
Options depending on the day and group preference:
Half-day sailing: 4–5 hours, ideal for those who want the ocean experience without a full day at sea
Full-day sailing: 7–8 hours, including a proper lunch on board and time to anchor in a calm bay
On Board
A day on the water with Santiago Around is not a nautical lesson (unless you want one — many guests end up wanting to take the helm). It's a day of proper leisure, with the specific pleasure that only the open ocean can produce.
Lunch is served on board — fresh seafood, Chilean cold cuts, bread, and a bottle of good Chilean white wine. We plan the menu based on the season and what's best that week.
The crew handles everything — the captain manages the boat, you manage your afternoon. Though if you want to help sail, we'll show you how.
Wildlife is part of the trip. The Humboldt Current running along Chile's coast makes these waters extraordinarily productive — sea lions, dolphins, pelicans, and occasionally penguins are regular companions. Nothing is guaranteed, but something almost always shows up.

You don't need any sailing experience; the captain takes care of the boat. All you need is an appetite for open water and a willingness to let the afternoon unfold at the speed of wind.
It's particularly popular with travelers who have done the Andes and the vineyards and want a third kind of landscape before leaving Chile — the ocean, which is nothing like the mountains but just as magnificent.
