Seven days in Santiago rarely feels like enough. This is a city that earns its place — not because it tries to impress, but because most travelers arrive with low expectations and leave planning their return. Surrounded by the Andes to the east and within two hours of the Pacific to the west, Santiago offers a geographic variety most cities can only dream about: ski runs at 3,000 meters, vineyard lunches, open-ocean sailing, and high-altitude treks, all without ever leaving the region.
This itinerary is designed for travelers who want to experience the best of Santiago and its surroundings — with the right balance of adventure, culture, and slow, unhurried pleasure.
Day 1: Arriving in Santiago — A City That Earns Its Place
Don't rush the first day. After arriving and checking into your hotel in Providencia, Las Condes, or Vitacura, start the afternoon with a walk through Barrio Lastarria — the most literary and architecturally beautiful neighborhood in the city, full of antique bookshops, small galleries, and terraces built for long afternoons. From there, the climb to Cerro Santa Lucía takes ten minutes and gives you the first view that will become your reference point for everything that follows: the city spreading west, and the wall of the Andes rising to the east.
In the evening, explore one of Santiago's wine bars. The city has developed a sophisticated wine-by-the-glass culture — there's no better introduction to Chilean wine than a table in Lastarria with a flight of Carménère, Cabernet, and Chardonnay.
Day 2: City Tour — The Santiago Nobody Shows You on a Map
A good city tour of Santiago is not about ticking monuments. It's about understanding how the city actually works — who lives where, where the best food is, what neighborhoods define different eras of Chilean history.
On this day, move between the places that matter: the historic center with its grand Plaza de Armas and La Moneda palace; the bohemian layering of Bellavista; the upscale, tree-lined calm of Providencia and Vitacura. Lunch at Mercado Central, where the seafood is impossibly fresh and the noise and light of the market are half the experience.

Day 3: The Andes — Coffee Downtown, Snow by Noon
This is the day that defines Santiago for most visitors. Less than 90 minutes from your hotel, the Farellones circuit places you at over 3,000 meters — above the smog, above the noise, above the city entirely. Valle Nevado, La Parva, and El Colorado each have their own character: Valle Nevado for the longest runs and most dramatic views, La Parva for the more intimate mountain-village feel, El Colorado for families and beginners.
In ski season (June–September), we arrange private transport, equipment, lift tickets, lunch, and guide — you arrive and ski.

Day 4: The Wine Valleys — A Slower Kind of Day
An hour south of Santiago, Valle del Maipo is Cabernet Sauvignon country — one of the world's great red wine regions, where some of Chile's most acclaimed labels have been produced for over a century. An hour west, the Casablanca Valley tells a completely different story: cool ocean air, world-class Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, and a newer generation of winemakers redefining Chilean wine.
This day is for taking your time. A private Vineyard Experience with a dedicated guide means you move at your own pace — guided tastings, cellar visits, conversations with winemakers, and ideally, a long table in the vines for lunch.
For the complete experience, pair the vineyard day with our Asado Experience: a traditional Chilean wood-fire barbecue set up in the heart of the Casablanca Valley, with wine, lamb or beef slow-cooked over embers, and absolutely no rush.
Day 5: The Pacific Coast — Zapallar and the Sea
Two hours from Santiago, the Pacific arrives without warning: wide, cold, wild, and immediately unforgettable.
Zapallar is one of Chile's most elegant coastal towns — where the weekend homes of Santiago's old families have stood alongside the sea for generations. The bay is sheltered, the light is extraordinary, and the seafood restaurants overlooking the water serve some of the best congrio and machas a la parmesana in the country.
Our Coastal Walk and Lunch in Zapallar combines a walk along the rocky coast with a long, unhurried lunch at a table facing the Pacific. On the way, we stop in Valparaíso — one of the most visually striking port cities in the Americas, where every hillside is covered in staircases and murals.
Day 6: Sailing Day — The Pacific From a Different Angle
There are views of the Chilean coast from land, and then there are views from the deck of a 49-foot sailing yacht heading into open water. These are not the same experience.
Our Sailing Experience takes place aboard our Swan 53 ' — a classic Finnish-built ocean-going yacht recognized worldwide for its performance and elegance. The route follows the coast, with stops in calm bays, lunch on board, and the kind of unhurried afternoon that only open water can produce. This is a private charter — no strangers, no shared decks. Day 7: Last Morning — Hills, Markets, and Slow Farewells
Leave the last morning unscheduled, or nearly so. A final walk up Cerro San Cristóbal for one last view of the city and its mountain backdrop. A slow breakfast in Lastarria. If the timing works, a visit to Feria del Parque Los Dominicos — Santiago's finest artisan market, tucked behind a colonial church in Las Condes.
