Portillo Private Day
Full day Ski Experience in Portillo Ski Resort
Service Description
There are ski resorts, and there are places that have become part of the mythology of skiing. Portillo is the latter. Founded in 1949 on the shores of Laguna del Inca — a natural high-altitude lake of extraordinary turquoise color, sitting at 2,860 meters — Portillo has trained Olympic champions, hosted World Cup races, and welcomed ski teams from Austria, France, the United States, and beyond who use Chile's southern hemisphere season to train while the northern hemisphere summers. It is, without question, the most famous and storied ski destination in South America. Unlike the resorts closer to Santiago (El Colorado, La Parva, Valle Nevado), Portillo is not a day resort connected to a grid of apartments. It is an all-in-one mountain hotel with its own character, its own bar, its own dining room, and its own way of doing things that hasn't changed much since the 1960s. Skiing at Portillo is not just about the runs — it's about the place. The experience includes: Private transport from Santiago to Portillo (approximately 2 hours, via the Andes highway toward Mendoza) Daily lift ticket Certified ski or snowboard instructor/guide (optional) Lunch at the Portillo Hotel dining room Return private transport to Santiago Optional upgrade: Overnight stay at the Portillo Hotel or at private Hacienda in Aconcagua Valley (all-inclusive packages available — contact us for pricing and availability). Duration: Full day (approximately 10–12 hours including transport) Group size: Private (1–8 guests) Season: June–September
